The Sydenham Basketball Club competes in the Keilor Basketball Association’s (KBA) Junior Domestic competition, open to boys and girls aged 6 to 19.
Each season, new and current players are placed into teams based on age, team needs, and skill level. We aim to keep teams together where possible, while also considering the development needs of both the team and individual players.
Our goal is to ensure every player has a positive experience while helping them develop their skills and love for the game.
At the start of each season, all teams in the competition participate in grading games to help determine the most appropriate grade for each team.

Winter Season: Runs from the start of Term 2 (after the April school holidays) through to the end of Term 3 (before the September school holidays).

PlayHQ is where players register and pay for registration.
All basketball player registrations are managed through PlayHQ, the official platform for community basketball across Australia.
PlayHQ makes it easy to register players, and pay fees.
To register, simply follow the unique PlayHQ link we provide when registration opens each season.
The links for Registration can also be found on StackTeam App.
You can find the Apple and Android links to StackTeam App ad the bottom of this page.
Season Fees:
Fees are based on a number of factors including; hire of stadiums on game days, payments for referees and officials on game days, the costs to hire training venues, club administration costs, and Basketball Victoria membership.
Season fees cover a participation medal or trophy for each player, which is presented during the team’s end of season celebration.
The registration fee is the only fee you pay for the season:
Registration fees vary from season to season depending upon the length of the season.
For Summer season 2025/2026 the registration fee is $287.
Basketball Australia membership is charged every 12 months and is currently $5.50
Basketball Victoria membership is charged every 12 months and is currently $29.
There is a Keilor Basketball Association registration fee which is charged separately from the Sydenham Panthers fee and this is currently $19.50 per player per season.

Player Uniform:
Once a player has registered and the club has confirmed they have a position in a team, families will be contacted to organise a uniform fitting. We highly recommend a uniform fitting before making any purchases to ensure correct sizes. Uniform fittings will be completed at one of our training venues.
Part of the uniform process is the club allocating your child a jersey number. The reason the club does this is to ensure that there is no chance of a clash with an existing player in the same age group, as well as players in lower or higher age groups. This prevents the risk of players moving teams and then having a number clash. Numbers can be requested but may not be available.
Uniform orders and payments are placed via StackTeam App. Uniforms usually take around 4 weeks after payment confirmation and player number has been allocated.
If a player’s uniform hasn’t arrived by the start of the season, the club will loan them a uniform to use until theirs is ready. Loaned uniforms must be returned once the player’s own uniform has been received. This is generally organised and managed through the Team Manager.
At Sydenham Panthers, we believe that wellbeing is just as important as skill development and teamwork. Our Wellbeing Coordinator supports players, coaches, and families, whether it's navigating challenges on or off the court, checking in on mental health, or simply being someone to talk to.
We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for everyone in our basketball community.
